The Douglas DC-6 Cloudmaster. Iconic 1950s airliner. Widely regarded as the best piston engine commercial aircraft ever built.

G-APSA was completed at Santa Monica in June 1958. Delivered to the UK 7 months later, she flew with distinction for British Eagle carrying tourists to exotic destinations and rockets to Australia in support of Britain's independent space program. After a spell in the Arabian Gulf she was brought home to England in 1987 and has been operated by us ever since.

A cameo role in 007's Casino Royale and an award winning airshow appearance convinced us it was too much fun to stop. This isn't a pristine faultless rebuild. Instead the Six team has aimed for authenticity. Today Sierra Alpha is a genuine hardworking propliner that has changed little since her last commercial flight and maintains the aura and majesty of a true classic.
